Beet + Banana Smoothie

This is the perfect post – yoga smoothie. I go back to this recipe again and again because it tastes amazing and has super simple ingredients. Easy to transport to Yoga class. Not to mention ticking all the nutritional boxes when it comes to muscle recovery and restoring nutrients post workout. Win, Win, Win…

Beet + Banana Smoothie


  • 1 cooked beetroot (vacum packed cooked beets are perfect)
  • 1 banana (frozen is good but not essential)
  • 1/2 tsp grated ginger
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tblsp cacao nibs
  • 1 tblsp unflavoured protein powder (I use a high quality organic whey but any vegan alternative works)
  • 1 1/2 cup unsweetened, unroasted almond milk (I use Alpro)
  • A little maple syrup to sweeten


Combine all ingredients in a high powered blender and blitz for about 40 seconds. Enjoy immediately, or decant into a stainless steel flask and store in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
